Cibola County– On Sunday, April 07, 2013 at 3:15 p.m., Grants State Police officers responded to a multi- vehicle crash on Interstate 40, mile post 78, in the west bound lanes of traffic.

The investigation at the scene determined vehicle one, operated by deceased was traveling eastbound when a road rage incident developed with vehicle two, a red Volkswagen, operated by Bradley Garman (31) of McHenry, IL.

Garman, sped up to get away from vehicle one, but vehicle one rammed the left side of vehicle two. Vehicle one (deceased) lost control and traveled through the median into the westbound lane. Vehicle one struck head on with vehicle three, a Nissan van, operated by Paul Nolan (42) of Paradise, CA.

At the time of impact deceased was ejected from his vehicle and landed down an embankment on the north shoulder of I-40 westbound. Vehicle four, a dark colored Freightliner commercial motor vehicle, operated by Levie Scott (39) of Amarillo, TX, skidded into the crash scene and was a non-collision participant.

State Police was assisted at the scene by Cibola County Sheriff’s Department and Milan Police Department.

No charges have been filed at this time, pending results of a completed investigation. It does appear road rage, aggressive driving, and the deceased being under the influence of alcohol are all contributing factors to this crash.

This investigation is still pending notification of next of kin. Once NOK is completed, an updated press release with the decease’s information will be sent out.
