Law Enforcement Unveil Holiday Plans for Busting Drunks

Albuquerque—The Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the Office of the Governor, has produced a TV commercial to spread the Drunk Buster message. The message is that the new state-wide hotline gives all everyone an easy way to report drunk drivers. The number, 1-877-DWI-HALT or 1-877-394-4258, is a weapon every one can use to fight the battle against DWI.

“Drunk Driving is still our biggest problem. We have been working very hard to get drunks from behind the wheel but I want to do more. I want everybody to know that you can’t drink and drive in New Mexico. The Drunk Busters hotline is a way for everybody to help end this problem.” Said Secretary John Denko.

Rachel O’Connor Governor’s DWI Czar said “This is a great example of a State government partnership working to stop a terrible problem. DWI has to be fought by everybody. And so I want everyone to program the hotline number into your cell phones and use it any time you see a drunk driver.”

The spot will start running on New Mexico TV stations Friday, December 30th.
